Hand painted Kalamkari made with natural colors has been patched with vibrant colors in this beautiful cushion cover.
Shiva is the third god in the Hindu triumvirate. The triumvirate consists of three gods who are responsible for the creation, upkeep and destruction of the world. The other two gods are Brahma and Vishnu.
Shiva is known to have untamed passion, which leads him to extremes in behavior.
It is Shiva's relationship with his wife, Parvati (Godess Shakti meaning strength) which brings him balance.
The Srikalahasti style of Kalamkari, wherein the "kalam" or pen is used for free hand drawing of the subject and filling in the colours, is entirely hand worked.

This style flowered around temples in Andhra Pradesh, India and so had an almost religious identity - scrolls, temple hangings, chariot banners and the like, depicted deities and scenes taken from the great Hindu epics - Ramayana. Mahabarata, Puranas and the mythological classics.
Only natural dyes are used in Kalamkari and it involves seventeen painstaking steps.
Cushion cover measures 18 x 18 inches and is backed with a Light Beige poly-viscose blended contrast fabric. The cushion is lined with cotton lining and has a YKK zipper closing.
This is a Dry Clean Only product. Since this is a hand painted Pillow each kalamkari panel will be slightly different and unique. Overall appeal, colours and style will be the same.
